The shape of iTunes to come [u]


There has been plenty of digital ink spilled about what to expected vis-a-vis new iPods next Tuesday.

[u] iLounge has published a pair of schematics said to show the physical characteristics of the revised iPod nano and iPod touch. It's perhaps telling that Apple hasn't (yet?) jumped on them. [u]

However, the sole source for information on iTunes 8 has been Kevin Rose. Although he's record-to-date of Apple punditry isn't particularly good, this time 'round it's the considered wisdom of the blogsphere that he may be onto something.

iTunes 8 includes Genius, which makes playlists from songs in a user's library that go great together

iTunes 8 allows browsing of artists and albums visually with Grid view

That's a fairly meaty new feature list and at face value is worthy of a whole number.
