Apple says 'Let's Rock'

As earlier predicted, Apple will hold an apparently iPod-themed special event on Sept 9 (Engadget).

It's widely anticipated that the mothership will introduce and ship an updated iPod nano and iPod touch, which likely will come market at reduced prices. Thereupon, the nano could see a haircut to $99 (8GB) and the touch to $199 (16GB).

The shuffle and classic likely will remain the same in styling, color(s) aside. Shuffle prices were trimmed earlier this year, though the mothership may choose to offer more capacity for the same money.

The classic? I'm thinking Apple will reduce the line to a single, high-capacity model and cut the price...
