Phone News claims it has confirmed Apple will refresh the MacBook Air based notifications given to retailers by Apple that new product is on the way, though no date is offered.

Their write up further claims that chances will be largely internal and the specifics thereof look like this:

Penryn-class processors, 2GHz and up

Faster GMA X4500 integrated graphics
Assuming a shift to the Centrino 2 chipset (Engadget)

60W power supply to accommodate Penryn

Higher capacity SSD drives

Though the specifics are few, the changes suggested make sense and are inline with the way the MBA would naturally evolve.

Previously, IGM reported that Apple had signaled resellers a portable refresh is on the way, specifically mentioning the MacBook and MacBook Pro, and not the MBA.

Has Apple changed its mind since late July? Perhaps.

The source of the original portable refresh rumor was AppleInsider and this latest information comes from a phone site—funky new rumor source touting reasonable information vs old reliable...
