Yesterday's news that Macs cost twice as much or more than "comparable" PCs is today's rebuttal from Tom's Hardware (via TUAW), of all places, that Apple gear really is quite competitive (thank you very much). Regardless of relative prices, enterprise users are voting with their dollars and collective oohs 'n' aahs for the fairer platform. A ChangeWave survey (ComputerWorld) of 2,200 US corporate types in the US found that of those using Macs 53% were very satisfied with OS X 10.5. "Apple continues to set the standard for corporate customer satisfaction," said Paul Carton, director of research, ChangeWave Research, adding that 8% of corporations planning on buying notebooks will chose Macs. Great prices on refurbished Macs and iPods On the other side of the coin, only 40% of Windows XP users and a paltry 8% of Vista users said they were very satisfied. This ChangeWave data comes in the wake of a recent report stating that the Mac is increasingly getting tread in the enterprise. Editor's note: All very well, but Mac users in the enterprise are still few and relatively far between. Perhaps another 12 months down the road we'll really have something to crow about... What's your take?
