Yankee Group has published an executive summary of a survey of 750 global IT admins and C-level executives that shows Macs are gaining significant traction in the enterprise. And although the Apple Mac hardware and OS X operating systems still represent a small niche, adoption and acceptance of Mac hardware and operating system software are growing at a steady and sustained pace not seen since the late 1980s. • About 80% of surveyed organizations have Macs running on their networks • Nearly one-quarter have more than 30 Macs • Enterprise-friendly features in OS X—Safari, iChat, Time Machine, FileVault, Back to My Mac—make supporting Macs easier and easier to justify Apple has obviously made supporting the fairer platform easier. Yet, the Mac's growing legion of fans are probably the force for change making this happen. Thereupon, I would like to know what percentage of admins and executives resisted supporting Macs. Further, of those admins that don't support Macs on their networks, I'd like to know whether they will ever allow them... What's your take?
