Apple seeks PsyStar recall

New York Times has more information on Apple's lawsuit against PsyStar over that company's line of Open Computer Mac clones.

[B]y misappropriating Apple's proprietary software and intellectual property for its own use, Psystar's actions harm consumers by selling to them a poor product that is advertised and promoted in a manner that falsely and unfairly implies an affiliation with Apple.

In its suit (.pdf), Apple then goes on to cite examples of Psystar's damaging behaviors and activities, including poor quality and missing features (ie iLife, Bluetooth, etc).

Editor's note: Forcing the company to stop selling clones would be a blow. Forcing them to recall every box they've sold with OS X loaded on it likely would be a death sentence.

Regardless, Apple must make its case and make it stick, which is anything but a sure thing...
