Time Capsule selling well


Quoting NPD data, BusinessWeek reports that Apple's Time Capsule, a consumer-class network storage solution, is selling well. As important, the device is doing well without cannibalizing Airport Extreme sales.

Steve Baker, NPD, calls Time Capsule the "dominant product in its category," though exactly how dominant he didn't say. He said so far the market is rather small, amounting to about 5% of the size of the market for traditional external hard drives.

Time Capsule is proving to be far and away the market leader, according to Baker, besting companies like Netgear, Linksys, D-Link and Buffalo Technologies.
