Hon Hai hunts iPhone order [u]

MarketWatch, quoting Taiwan's Commercial Times (come on, guys, get a website), reports that Hon Hai, which is also the manufacturer of current-gen iPhones, is pursuing the contract to make Apple's next-gen iPhone.
If Hon Hai wins the order, it could ship an extra 10 million handsets a year, the Chinese-language paper said. It didn't name the other companies interested in Apple's order.
On Wednesday, Gartner analyst Ken Dulaney shocked many when he said Apple may have already ordered 10-million 3G iPhones, which he speculated would include OLED displays.
And, now, he's back with new information (Bloomberg):
"This is an order placed at the factory, a commitment to the manufacturer," Dulaney said, without naming a source. The phones would likely be produced over 18 months, he said.
[u] Dow Jones (CNN) claims Hon Hai is in talks for the order.

Earlier today, IGM reported that after a lull of several months Apple has again begun ordering high-density 32GB flash memory modules.
And, yes, there is also the rumor that Apple plans to release redesigned iPod touch and nano models in Q3.
Editor's note: It's interesting how all of these rumors can be tied together, but not by a single thread.
I wonder if things are unfolding the way Phil Schiller has planned them...
