MBA display cost revealed

CENS (Taiwan) reports that Taiwanese LCD and backlight manufacturers are benefiting from rising MacBook Air orders.

The report claims that AU Optronics makes the 13.3 LED-backlit display used by the MBA. Also, Kenmos Technology and Nano Electro-Optical are said to be the manufactures of the super-thin backlighting units used therein.

Taken altogether the low-power display used in the MacBook Air is said to cost from $150 to $170.
