SCO: The vampire rises

Barrons reports that SCO, the company that attempted to extort billions from the Linux community with the financial and "moral" backing of Microsoft, has received a $100 million infusion from a group of investors, bringing the company back from the dead.

Although the SCO's legal case against Novell and other Linux purveyors (previously, it's main "product") is considered dead in the water, the company itself has managed to pull itself out of Chapter 11.

The SCO will be reorganized, taken private and is expected to launch a number of "new" products. One wonders what role litigation will play in the company's future, if any, profitability.

The vampire has risen again...
