No Apple TV Price Cut for UK?

Readers from the Old Dart might get a bit het up under the collar if this is true: Pocket Lint reports that Apple UK spokespeople have stated that there will be no Apple TV price cut in the UK.

The new software update that cuts the cable from Apple TV to a computer will come in two weeks, but British users are not likely to see movie rentals anytime soon; 'hopefully' by year's end is the best the UK Apple people can promise at this stage.

Meanwhile, Britons will still have to stump up £199 for the 40GB edition and £269 for the 160GB model. And, while we're on this, it would've been nice if Apple had seen fit to expand the storage capacity; how much do 40 and 160GB hard drives cost these days anyway?
