• System Optimizer X 3.0 is designed to speed up various aspects of system -- i.e. Internet access and RAM. The new version features window buffer compression, internet version checking, localized readmes, full error coding, minor bug fixes, minor interface improvements and more. This bit of shareware can be downloaded here and sells for $12.

• Aladdin has announced that DragStrip for Mac OS X is shipping. This latest iteration, v4.0, features a tabbed floating palette that users can use to quickly access and store files and applications. Also new is an assistant for configuring new strips, as well as support for visual skins. DragStrip sells for US$20.

• Address Office is a practical multiplatform telephone and address program that allows users to quickly and easily manage addresses, phone numbers, URLs, AIM, ICQ and Email addresses. Address Office features quick searching and password-protected data, ground-up Internet integration with the Internet that allows users to connect with Web pages and send e-mail. Address Office can import and export addresses to/from the principal Email clients, Word processors and Excel. This application is freeware and can be downloaded here.

• PrintMagic -- the easiest to use and most versatile printing utility available for OS X -- has been updated to v1.2. PrintMagic works with virtually any program that allows you to select text, PrintMagic accelerates printing, and gives you total control of what you print by letting you select and print (or save) just the information you need -- anything from a single character, word, sentence, or paragraph to multiple pages. The update is free is free for existing PrintMagic users. This app costs $24.95.

• TypeJet 1.1 is a font viewer that can create multiple font sets and offers a slideshow option. This latest version of TypeJet ships with a revised interface, new character presets and more TypeJet sells for $11.
