CNBC: Ultra-thin Mac Book definite
December 6th 2007
Quoting a source at "close to some of the Asian manufacturers" partnering with Apple, Jim Goldman of CNBC (video, plays in Firefox) reports that the long-rumored ultra-portable MacBook Pro will indeed arrive at Macworld San Francisco.
Here are the details they've got:
• 50-percent thinner than current models
• 12-inch display
• No hard drive, Flash-based memory
• Expected to sell for about $1,500
The report also claims the the 3G iPhone could arrive in late May or early June of next year. Goldman said the device would be on "store shelves" in that time frame.
Also, iPod touch production has been ramped to 5.1-million units this quarter. Previously, Piper Jaffray had said it expects Apple to sell 3.7-million units.
Editor's note: Of course, no Apple product is real until it ships, but this cinches it for me...
