AppleInsider claims that the Mac mini, which was refreshed just two months ago, has reached end-of-life (EOL). [T]he company this week began telling some of its channel partners not to expect any more shipments of its current Mac mini configurations, period. And, those channel partners who were not provided with this heads up instead discovered anomalies for forward looking orders on their own. This is the second time this year that AppleInsider has made this claim. Mac nano? Earlier this month, IGM brought you news of the Mac nano. Although details are still slim, this new product line is said to be 25-percent smaller in volume terms and 20-percent lighter than the mini. Editor's note: Why would Apple refresh and then unceremoniously dump the mini after just two months? It's not a very Apple-like scenario. Then again, AppleInsider does have a habit of being right... Is the mini really dead this time? Now with iLife ’08 and the Core 2 Duo, from $599.
