iPhone Human Interface Guidelines posted


Apple has posted a Human Interface Guidelines document for the iPhone. It only deals with elements of web-application design.

However, there is a sliver of hope for those yearning to use full applications on their handsets:

Currently, [emphasis added] developers create web applications for iPhone, not native applications. Therefore, this document focuses solely on the presentation of web applications and other web content on iPhone.

That one word would seem to indicate that Apple's current policy banning full applications on the iPhone may someday come to an end.

For those that can't resist the sport of developing for the iPhone right now, unofficial human interface guidelines for full application development have also surfaced.
