In a world riven with iPhone rumors, Electronista arrives quoting a leaked T-Mobile advertisement from Germany. Perhaps the most-interesting tidbit in the whole piece is the claim that that a 16GB, 3G-compatible iPhone will launch on Nov 12—Apple has said it will launch in Europe next quarter. Here's the gist of what the ad says: The 3G iPhone would sell for 499 Euros ($687) including a coupon for the iTunes Store, and would be available with phone plans that all offer unlimited data and vary only in terms of general calling minutes and SMS messages. An "L" plan would offer 200 minutes and 100 messages for 50 Euros ($69) per month; "XL" and "XXL" plans would jump to 300 and 400 minutes respectively for 60 Euros ($83) and 70 Euros ($96) per month with 150 and 200 messages each. Of course, Apple is now licensed to use 3G technologies, which doesn't say anything about the veracity of the above info. Nevertheless, there is a growing symmetry between the known facts and the rumors. Then again, it's worth noting that anyone with a copy of Photoshop and good general knowledge of the cellphone market could easily have mocked up the ad Electronista is quoting. It's also worth noting that neither Apple legal nor T-Mobile has (yet) gone after the (various) publishers of this information... What's your take?
