Apple has upgraded all recent iPod orders to the new models, announced September 5, as PC Pro reports.

It appears that iPods ordered – i.e., ones still in the system but not delivered – will be upgraded. Customers have been sent emails informing them of their upgrade.

"Since your iPod has not yet shipped, we will upgrade your order to the new iPod classic with video from 30GB to 80GB, and 80GB to 160GB, at no additional charge," Apple says in the email.

Nice touch. Good PR.

Anyone else get one of these emails?
