Apple Confirms iPhone Shipping in June

Apple has confirmed it will commence shipping the iPhone in June this year, as emails to customers who have signed up for more information confirm.

The email said, in part, "You'll be the first to hear the latest about iPhone - coming this June. That gives you just enough time to think of ways to break the news to your current phone."

Macworld UK also notes that Apple is seeking a senior manager who will oversee iPhone's European launch. It is thought that Apple will sign up different cell phone service providers for each European country.

As IGM reported recently, it is widely rumored that Apple will officially launch the iPhone at the WWDC in San Francisco on June 11.

Analysis: When iPhone launches, 5 or so months after its announcement, will the 'wow' factor have worn off? Are you still ready to buy?
