Rumors: G4 Rev to Feature DDR266? Death of Classic?

MacOS Rumors
MOSR talks about the photos which were leaked last week, but were predictably removed at the request of Mr. Plod (Apple Legal). While many of the current QuickSilver features remain, MOSR suggests two removable drive bays are a distinct possibility. Minor features include a front-mounted headphone jack.

How fast are processors that require the amount of cooling that Apple appears to have built into the chassis? MOSR anticipate 1.4GHz G4s, with DP options.

The next Power Macs, MOSR suggest, will also deliver the nVidia GeForce 4MX as the standard graphics card on the base model, with the G4 Titanium on one or both of the 'better' and 'best' configurations. ATI's release of the 9000 series Radeons recently complicates matters, but MOSR expect Apple will offer these as a BTO option.

As a side note, MOSR speculate on an alleged remark from Jobs, where he purportedly said that "OS 9 will no longer be a bootable system on next year's Macs."

Analysis: If so, there better be a helluva lot more than 3,500 OS X apps by next year. And they all better run fast on those revved G4s.
