Firefox 2 final to arrive Tuesday [updated]

Quoting Mozilla Foundation insiders, ComputerWorld reports that the final version of Firefox 2.0 will ship Tuesday. However, if you've already downloaded the open-source group's most-recent release candidate, you're probably good to go.

"RC3 is substantially the same as the final release," a Mozilla spokeswoman is quoted as saying.

New features of Firefox 2.0 are said to include built-in anti-phishing controls, built-in RSS and XML feed-viewing capabilities and inline spell checking.

To infinity and beyond!

In related news, Firefox' share of the browser market continued its upward climb in September, rising to 12.46 percent of those measured by researchers at Net Applications up from 11.84 percent in August.

[Update]--Firefox 2 final already available via Mozilla's FTP site.
