- Report: Apple to extend health benefits to part-time employees

Ahead of Monday's WWDC keynote with Apple CEO Steve Jobs, DVD Newroom claims to have interviewed an Apple employee on new products to be announced by Cupertino Monday.

In fact, it all sounds quite convincing, as the 'employee' doesn't really have a clue. Mac Pro will apparently ship October/November (no surprises); no Apple TV; a 'true' video iPod with Airport support; no Apple TabletPC; no 12" or 14" MacBook. Oh - and no iPhone either.

There's more. Mac Mini is moving in the direction of a media center. And Front Row will become TiVo (somehow). New monitors with 'Built-in iChat' (yes, that's a mystery to us as well; do they mean built-in iSight?). And Skype will be a "big deal" for Apple.

No news about the Core-2 Duo chips. Of course, there can be no doubt that Mac Pro will ship with higher-octane chips than the consumer line. It would make simply no sense to have iMac performing nearly as well as the costly, high-end Mac Pros.

Also of interest: Blu-Ray support to be announced Monday and BTO Blu-Ray drives at MWSF '07.

That's basically it. Of course, we'll know in 48 hours or thereabouts. The question is do you believe any of the rumors?
