If you've tuned into this Apple Discussions thread, you're aware of certain "issues" that have arisen for some users after installing yesterday's updates. Though nothing related to exact causes and effects is quite certain, a few themes repeat:

Mactel hardware
Inability to boot
Safe mode oft works
Deleting start-up items has helped some
