Apple to Ship 9.3 Million iPods This Quarter?

Piper Jaffrey are confident Apple can sell 9.3 million iPods in the current quarter, despite the post-Xmas sales slowdown, New Ratings reports.

Piper also raised its rating on Apple to 'outperform', while noting that iPod is either in line or slightly ahead of market estimates.

The company bases its analysis upon January shipments, although the iPod's market dominance dipped slightly - by around 2% - according to the latest data covering the January-February 2006 period. Nevertheless, the combined total market share of all other MP3 players is only slightly over 25%.
