OWC trims Mercury On-the-Go pricing


Other World Computing (OWC) has reduced pricing on the newly-enhanced 800 FireWire-equipped version of its award-winning 2.5-inch Mercury On-The-Go drives.

"Adding FireWire 800 capability to the On-The-Go line of portable storage solutions doubles the potential power and now we're making them even more affordable," said CEO Larry O'Connor.

New prices for the 2.5-inch Mercury On-the-Go line are:

• 160GB, 8MB cache, 5400RPM--$450 (was $500)
• 120GB, 8MB cache, 5400RPM--$340 ($380)
• 100GB, 16MB cache, 5400RPM--$250 ($280)
• 100GB, 8MB cache, 5400RPM--$220 ($260)
• 80GB, 16MB cache, 5400RPM--$220 ($230)
• 40GB, 16MB cache, 5400RPM--$150 ($160)
• 100GB, 8MB cache, 7200RPM--$300 ($320)
• 80GB, 8MB cache, 7200RPM--$250 ($270)
• 60GB, 8MB cache, 7200RPM--$220 ($230)

On-The-Go plug-and-play drives are compatible with all Mac OS Versions from 8.5 through 9.2.x, as well as OS X.0.3 and higher.
