Safari wins share [updated]

Net Applications reports that Apple's Safari has added 1.22 percent market share since December 2004. As of the end of November the browser was used by 2.78 percent of those measured--up 0.22 percent since October's reading.

[update] Net Applications also tracks the OS' being run and this report shows Mac users accounting for 4.11 percent of those measured by the company.

Mozilla's Firefox has added share and reportedly accounted for 8.84 percent of those measured (the full version of Firefox 1.5 was released earlier this week).

Naturally, all of this growth has come at the expense of Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Net Applications' statistics indicate Redmond's sloth ware earned an 86.06 percent rating.

Editor's note: Onward Mac head soldiers! But, what will Safari's share be next year at this time? In excess of 5 percent, hmmm?
