Aperture now shipping


First announced back on October 19, Apple has quietly let it be know that Aperture, the company's professional photograph management application, is now shipping. Featuring a RAW-focused workflow, the mothership claims that "Aperture makes RAW as easy as JPEG," allowing the user to import, edit, catalog, organize, retouch, publish and archive images.

There had been speculation that Adobe, the dominant force in image manipulation software, would take offense at the introduction of Aperture. However, subsequent comments from the two some-time friends muted talk of a new rift.

Previously, a public flare up resulting in the loss of Adobe Premier on the fairer platform with the launch of Final Cut Pro.
