Roll your own OSx86 boxen for $199

Users have dreamed cheap Macs and now someone has gone out and created one--an Intel compatible that runs OSx86 for the low, low price of $199. A page on the OSx86 Project has the details:

CEpeep, shopped around and found everything you'd need to build your own Intel Mac for under $200--no rebates, no refurbs. Sure, the case is a little ghetto, it's only got a 20 gig hard drive, and it's no Millennium Falcon in terms of speed, but it runs Quartz Extreme and everything else that Tiger x86 requires.

Needless to say, it should be mentioned that a PC running OSx86 and a Mac are two entirely different animals. Perhaps not as radically different as today's Macs and 'doze boxen, but one wonders just how far the one could stretch the concept before ending up right back in the crash and malware malaise that PC users currently endure?

What's your take?
