Apple to trim eMac, iBook product lines?

Various reports state that Apple is clearing stock of existing Mac minis to make way for "new" models priced at $499, $599 and $699. Of course, it's this latter price that's caused some pundits to scratch their heads.

However, a reader report on MacInTouch and subsequent confirmation by IGM shows that the CD-ROM only eMac ($649) is no longer available, though it's $799 / combo drive cousin is.

Also, both Think Secret and AppleInsider have reported that the $1,499 iBook is also history--the mothership hasn't issued a new part number for this model.

When Tuesday rolls around, will Apple's revised product catalog come shorn of the CD-ROM only eMac and $1,499 iBook? What's your take?
