Real goes back to the well...

News.com reports that Real has reactivated the hack that allows music purchased from its online music store to play on the iPod. A short statement offered by the company reads:

"Harmony now supports all shipping iPods, including iPod Photo."

RealNetworks' Harmony software, which allows songs to be played directly on an iPod or on a Microsoft-based device, is limited to the company's pay-per-song store. This hack was available and useful for a few short months last year before Apple issued a fix.

In related news, ThinkSecret reports that iTunes 4.8 is expected shortly. One expects that this release will deal with all outstanding iPod security issues, including Real and DVD Jon et al.
