With the release of X.3.9, also comes Safari 1.3 and it's likely that this is the last significant update users of this browser on Panther will see. One assumes there will continue to security updates, but the features and compatibility offered by v1.3 are probably cut in stone.

David Hyatt, Apple's guru in charge of Safari, states in his weblog that, " Safari 1.3 loads pages overall 35% faster than 1.2 as measured by IBench."

This is, of course, good news. However, demonstrating on a benchmark that something's faster and the user's actual experience may vary significantly.

So, have you applied X.3.9 and do you feel Safari is faster? What's your take?
