PearPC v CherryOS: A worthy cause

Starport reports that the people behind PearPC, an open-source emulator that allows the user to run OS X under 'doze, are asking for donations in order to take Maui X-Stream (ie CherryOS) to court. The issue at hand is the latter has taken and used code from the former, and won't come clean about it.

Here's a quote:

I [Ed--Sebastian Biallas?] was told directly, and bluntly, that he [John Miller of MXS] would not speak to me, and that if I had these allegations, that I need speak with an Attorney. So, that's exactly what I'm doing.

If you're reading this, anyone at MXS, I have been far more than fair. I have so far only ever asked you to comply with the GPL* and release your source code. But, now you've pissed me off. Being that I need now contact a lawyer, I will not stop simply there.

Moreover, as the code used in PearPC was released under the GPL*, Maui X-Stream should make their additions to the code base freely available to the public. Apparently, that's no going to happen as MXS has been actively trying to obfuscate the stolen code while denying any theft has taken place.

Those Maui people definitely don't have that "Kona feeling."

FYI, a PayPal donation box is located on the right-hand-side of this page.
