News.com reports that last week's iTunes' hack, PyMusique, is already history. Created in part by Apple bęte noire Jon Johansen, aka "DVD Jon," PyMusique allowed the user to purchase and download music from the iTunes Music Store, and then prevented the implantation of Apple's FairPlay DRM. "The security hole in the iTunes Music Store which was recently exploited has been closed, and as a consequence the iTunes Music Store will now sell music only to customers using iTunes version 4.7," the company said in a statement. According to News.com, PyMusique itself was the work of several different programmers, including 17-year-old Pennsylvania high school student Cody Brocious, who last week said he was simply trying to create a way for Linux-based computers to use the iTunes store. Editor's note: I think Apple should be a good citizen and help the enterprising Cody Brocious (et al).
