AppleInsider has removed Power Mac G5 pics posted last week in the wake of a 'cease and desist' from Apple Legal, The Register reports. Pictures from apparently authentic Apple Service Source manuals, which detailed the internal differences between the Rev. A and Rev. B Power Mac G5s, were sourced by AppleInsider. As the Register notes, Apple's demand for their removal virtually confirms their authenticity. Apple generally prepares its technical support documentation well before releasing new products. New G5s are expected to be announced around the time of Apple's Worldwide Developers' Conference, which commences with a keynote from Apple CEO Steve Jobs on June 28. Analysis: The cat's out of the bag. The question is whether the new G5s will sport the 90nm PPC970s. Equally interesting is AppleInsider's recent report that Apple has ceased restocking the current iMac. Does that mean a G5 iMac or a revved G4? Either way, Apple has to get new product moving out the door with its bread-and-butter consumer desktop
