ATIccelerator: Overclock ATI cards

One Thomas Perrier -- apparently a man with some time on his hands and perhaps "thrill issues," has posted ATIccelerator, a tool for overclocking ATI graphics accelerators from the now-crusty Rage 128 to the RADEON 9800 Pro.

According to Mssr Perrier, this tool can do two related things:

Display and modify core and memory frequencies stored in a flashing utility (ATI Multi Flasher);
Display and modify core and memory frequencies stored in a ROM.

Supported ROMs are said to include:

9800 Pro Mac Edition, rev 114
9700 Pro OEM, rev 119 and 124
9600 Pro OEM, rev 126
9000 Pro Mac Edition, rev 107 and 112
9000 Pro OEM, rev 122 and 127
8500 Pro Mac Edition, rev 123 and 126
7500 OEM, rev 222
7000 Mac Edition, rev 208
Mac Edition, rev 106 and 126
Rage 128 Pro OEM, rev 108 and 130
Rage 128 OEM, rev 116 and 204

ATIcellerator's other requirements, including a card-compatible Mac capable of running OS, are not overtly steep, but require a bit of study before hand.

You can download the application here.

Editor's note: It's worthy of note that Pellier makes no claims vis-à-vis the performance boost one might expect to gain...

Hey, I've got a Rage 128 card just laying around... hmmm!

Are you tempted to give this tool a go?
