AppleStore Watch: G5s Slide, Mini-Me Up

After an initial spike which saw it rocketing to # 3 on the AppleStore charts, the DP Power Mac G5 has settled back to a still-creditable seventh place. The G5/DP 2GHz costs around $3,000, depending on options installed.

Meanwhile, the PowerBook 12.1" - despite being overdue for a refresh - has reassumed its position as the top-selling Mac at # 4.

Topping the list is the iPod, and a new entry at # 2 is Apple's iSight FireWire camera, its hardware companion to iChat.

The still-too-expensive Microsoft Office v.X ($500) is selling surprisingly well, sitting at # 13. Disk Warrior for OS X is at # 15 (with Norton's nowhere to be seen, despite the fact it always makes a strong showing on industry Mac software lists). And Quark's $900 XPress 6 for OS X comes in at # 17. We'd also be interested to see how many copies of Quark were added to a PM G5 order.
