IBM scheds 970 briefings after keynote
June 20th 2003
The Mercury News, a San Francisco-area newspaper, states in a report today that IBM has scheduled a number of press briefings at the WWDC specifically to inform reporters about the specifics of its new PowerPC 970 processor. Here's a quote from the story:
"IBM has scheduled analyst briefings on the chip to begin after Apple Chairman and Chief Executive Steve Jobs gives his keynote address. A group of IBM engineers has come to Apple's Cupertino headquarters for last-minute preparations. And Apple's close partners say significantly faster Apple machines should arrive before the end of the year."
This appears to be confirmation of what we already know -- new PowerMac iron will be announced Monday. The only questions that remain are which models and for how much?
Will Apple raise prices?
