MacExpo Cologne: Germany gets its own show

The organizers behind the UK's highly-successful MacExpo, appropriately named MacExpo Events, have announced MacExpo Cologne.

"After the incredible response to MacExpo in the UK,, the show organisers today released details of a new German event in 2003, set to be more comprehensive, more in-depth and more educational than Mac-related events in Germany have been before," MacExpo Event's PR spin gushes.

The event, which is to take place in Cologne, Germany on June 23 through 25 in Hall 6 of the KoelnMesse, has "early heavyweight support." Sponsors that have already signed on include Media Vision and MediaForum.

MacExpo Cologne will be completely dedicated to digital hub solutions for Mac users especially pro and prosumer users. Music, digital photography and video, games, the web, design, publishing and much more will be represented through product and service presentations, information and education by on-stand seminars and conference sessions.

The MacExpo Cologne 2003 website will take advance visitor registrations from early March 2003. The first 3,000 to pre-register will receive a free ticket. On the day, visitors will be charged ?15 (US$16) per adult and ?8 (US$8.50) per child (over the age of 12), which entitles show goers to attend events taking place simultaneously in adjacent exhibition halls.

Editor's note: Excellent news! It would be good to find someone to sponsor me for the show. I like Germany and would love to cover this event. Spare a (few) copper, guv'na?
