SonicWALL, equinux bring secure connectivity to the Mac

SonicWALL has announced a relationship with equinux Inc. to extend secure Virtual Private Network (VPN) connectivity to the Mac (OS X) . The connection between equinux VPN Tracker and SonicWALL appliances creates a solution that enables Mac-users to securely connect to a corporate network using the flexibility of the Internet, without compromising security.

"We recognize that small and medium-sized businesses have heterogeneous network environments and require secure connectivity, regardless of their computing platforms," said Douglas Brockett, vice president, worldwide marketing, SonicWALL. "We're pleased to work with equinux to extend our reach to the Macintosh market, bringing secure connectivity to Mac OS X users worldwide."

Running the equinux VPN Tracker, mobile and remote workers using Macs can establish a secure VPN connection to a SonicWALL-secured corporate network from nearly anywhere in the world. SonicWALL appliances feature ICSA certified, IPSec VPN capabilities to provide companies of all sizes with reliable, secure remote access to corporate resources for remote users, telecommuters and branch offices.

VPN Tracker is available now in Personal and Professional Editions (English-only). VPN Tracker pricing for the Personal Edition starts from $79.90 and the Professional Edition starts from $199.90.

Editor's note: An X-compatible version of this software has been available since April of last year. However, the companies are probably trying to spread the word about Mac compatibility by "re-announcing" these products. Whatever the case, better Mac/enterprise integration and compatibility is always good news.
