Microsoft rolls out new Outlook app for iOS

Microsoft this week launched a new Outlook app for their suite of iOS Office solutions. The app works with Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Outlook.com, iCloud, Gmail, and Yahoo.

So, it's not an exclusive Microsoft client and gives users another option for dealing with email. Most powerful, however, may be the Exchange, Office 365, and Outlook.com compatibility. While iOS Mail support Exchange, it may not be fully compatible depending on the enterprise configuration. Microsoft has offered their OWA app and it appears the new Outlook app is a significant improvement there.

Along with email, the app ties into the account calendar. You can also link in OneDrive and Dropbox accounts for file access.

The app is available for free.
