10 Years of WWDC

Harry McCracken:

Once a year, Apple kicks off its World Wide Developer Conference with a keynote presentation, such as the one coming up on Monday, which I'll be covering for Technologizer. Many people seem to think they're famous for involving Apple dazzling consumers with an array of new products, to the rapturous approval of everybody involved.

Which is weird, because that's not the point at all.

Interesting look at the last 10 years of WWDC keynotes. The keynotes became higher profile for consumers after 2009, which was the last year Apple did the big Macworld Expo thing. Also it was about that time Apple started to transition from scheduled yearly events to putting on its own special product focused events.

Each event lists the major news out of the presentation, a quote about the event, and usually unrelated stock price change.
