Apple retires iPad 2, resurrects iPad 4th Gen

I was never surprised why people buy the iPad 2. It was cheap especially when buying a bunch of them that really adds up. Schools loved them, and I imagine they were popular for retail, business, and anywhere people just needed a tablet and wanted an iPad. It did have an A5 CPU, which puts on par with the iPhone 4s. I would assume adding on a Retina display at this price point didn't make sense. Apparently costs have come down enough for Apple to finally offer a Retina tablet at $400.

iPad with Retina display models in black or white are available for a suggested retail price of $399 (US) for the 16GB Wi-Fi model and $529 (US) for the 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model for either AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile or Verizon.
