Apple releases multi-touch Magic Trackpad for the desktop
July 27th 2010
The new Magic Trackpad is essentially a MacBook trackpad for the desktop. The multi-touch surface supports a full set of gestures, allowing users to scroll, pinch, click, rotate, and swipe. The trackpad is a wireless Bluetooth device that utilizes two AA batteries. Interesting, Apple has released its own separate rechargeable batteries and battery charger, which includes six NiMH batteries for your MagicPad, Magic Mouse, and wireless keyboard.
This is an interesting addition for those who prefer a trackpad over a mouse, or perhaps adding a third control system to their desktop. Or maybe even just want a bigger trackpad along side their laptop.
The Magic Trackpad is available now for $69 and the battery charger with batteries sells for $29.
