Apple sells 3 million iPads after 80 days


Hey, remember that iPad thing? Apparently it's still selling well despite all the iPhone 4 hubbub.

Apple announced Tuesday that it has sold its three millionth iPad on Monday. The milestone comes after 80 days. Even though the iPad market as expanded for more countries, the overall pace of iPad shipments has increased. The company announced that it shipped its 2 millionth iPad in under 60 days, and 1 millionth in under 28 days. Now to insert magical quote below...

"People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO. "We're working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month."

Apple also announced the iPad has over 11,000 native apps, and the company also noted that there are now more than 225,000 iOS apps in the app store
