In the flurry of recent iPhone GPS news, comes a second slightly less expensive car kit from TomTom TomTom's Website now lists a car kit for the Pod Touch. The kit is similar as the recently shipping kit for the iPhone. Physical specks listed on the site appear to match, and the one difference between the kits appears that the iPod kit lacks the Bluetooth hands free option. This makes obvious sense as the iPod Touch can not make voice call. Version 1.2 of the TomTom app adds support for the original EDGE iPhone and iPod Touch when using the car kit. Nether device have a built-in GPS, but can access the built-in GPS receiver in the kit. The Website lists the handset for $99, or $20 less than the iPhone kit. It is not shipping yet, and there is no other information available. This may be nice for iPod Touch users to save $20 for a feature they won't need. If all other specs are the same, however, the extra $20 may be worth the handsfree feature if they own an iPhone or may in the future. TomTom car kit for iPod Touch
