As legal efforts get rebuffed, AT&T takes to the airwaves against Verizon

Earlier this week we had the Verizon sorry, Charley the "truth hurts" legal response to AT&T complaints. The complaints stem from Verizon's Map ads depicting AT&T's 3G coverage area as lacking.

The new AT&T ad stars Luke Wilson and takes some shallow swipes at Verizon. One key point lost on many in the Verizon vs AT&T, GSM vs CDMA gets touched upon in the ad. CDMA does not support simultaneous voice and data functions, while 3G does. Many iPhone users take data and talking for granted.

Here's the ad in all its glory

I'm sure many iPhone users would agree, take the advertising money and spend it on the network. 3G speed means nothing if it is interrupted or isn't available in your area. Talking and surfing at the same time is cool (unless you're driving), but it ignores the valid point that Verizon made in the first place, the overall 3G coverage still doesn't compare!
