Turn-by-Turn GPS update now available in iTunes Store. NAVIGON sent a note letting us know NAVIGON 1.3 for North America is now live on the iTunes Store. The big feature to this update is the addition of Traffic Live for U.S. and Canada customers. "Traffic Live utilizes real-time traffic information to calculate better routes that avoid congestion and get drivers to their destination faster. The feature launches with coverage for the U.S., with Canada soon to follow." * Users receive immediate on-screen alerts via iconic warnings indicating accidents, construction and other incidents that can cause congestion along the current route. * Provides detailed information regarding the severity of the incident and the speed of traffic flow. * Based on the real-time traffic warnings and the excellent mapping functionality the user can determine an efficient, alternative route or stay on the course. * The software automatically adjusts estimated time of arrival. Other features include in-app purchases, which Live Traffic is. The update also adds additional search options at your destination. This will help users find a location even if the exact address isn't known. For example, drivers will also now be able to move destinations in the map view, and finally the app can now launch in landscape mode, rather portrait and then flip to landscape. The 1.3 update is free to existing customers. To upgrade Traffic Live, drivers will have to pay an additional $24.99. For the next four months, NAVIGON will offer the service for $19.99.
