Memory upgrades offer upgrades for Apple’s latest iMacs. Last week Apple launched a new line of iMac desktops using PC3-8500 DDR 1066 MHz SO-DIMMs. The memory is listed compliant with JEDEC specifications and exceeds Apple and Intel’s specifications. The new iMacs contain four memory slots for up to 16 GB of RAM. Memory kits are available for 4GB (2X 2GB) 8 GB (2X 4GB) and 16 GB (4x 4GB). Prices are $87.99, $475.99, and $949.99, respectively. Memory upgrades from third party vendors can result in cost savings. The iMacs ship with 4 GB of memory, and if user wished to upgrade 8GB, for example, Apple charges $200 vs $88. For 16 GB from Apple will run you $1400 vs $950. Other World Computing also offers a memory trade-in program for cash back on old memory modules. OWC iMac Upgrades
