Adobe announces Photoshop Elements 8 for Mac

Consumer photo editing package gets upgrade for Mac and Windows
Adobe is marketing Elements as an alternative to its full blown Photoshop software, and also as a companion to Apple's iPhoto. Essentially the package makes quick work of basic photo editing, and goes a step above Apple's free photo editing and management software.
Elements 8 includes access to Adobe Bridge CS4 for Creative Suite customers looking to integrate a light weight editor into their workflow.
The software also includes intelligent photo-editing including Photomerge Exposure, Recompose, and Quick Fix. Photomerge Exposure can merge multiples shots of the same scene with or without a flash, to make an ideally lit photo. Recompose allows users to resize photos without distortion, and Quick Fix helps users set the best color, contrast, and lighting adjustments.
Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 will be available in October for $99.99.
