Microsoft Monday is releasing another service pack for its Mac OS Office 2008. The package is expected to go live early this afternoon. The last update, 12.1.9, was released just last month.
The update promises faster performance and better reliability. Specifically the update offers custom paths for animated items, where before users could just play back set motion paths. The update also supports default themes for documents, including font colors, and layouts. For speed, the update offers improved launch and scroll times, as well as improved calculation speed in Excel 2008.
The update is expected to go live at 1 p.m. EDT. It’s a free update that can either be downloaded from Microsoft or Office’s update utility.
