Wednesday is the official launch of iPhone OS 3.0. iPhone and iPod Touch users are anticipating the release, which brings major features to the mobile OS.

Gizmodo pieces together info across various time zones to conclude we should expect the release after noon eastern time. Some Apple sites are listing a June 18th release date, and figuring where midnight lands would put the release later in the afternoon. iPodNN meanwhile pegs the release at 1 PM EST, but doesn't cite any reason for that time.
